Derek brings more than a decade of experience as a professional engineer. From designing multi-million dollar electrical systems to helping international airports improve their energy efficiency, Derek is well-versed in designing and implementing green technology systems in different environments. Derek’s passion for green technology has fueled his goal to build B.C.’s first complete ICF Passive House.

James Young - 3d MODELLER & project manager

As Project Manager and 3D modeller of Nueltin’s current passive residential project, James is the man who executes the ideas and plans. Clients, architects, engineers, city officials and highly skilled sub-trades require orchestration. With a background in fine arts and business, James has transitioned his 3D modeling experience from the gaming and film industry into building information modeling with tools such as Revit. James has over a decade of leadership experience in operational roles such as Senior Supervisor with Shaw Communications. James is keen on completing tasks using cutting-edge tools and keeping stakeholders informed and on schedule.

Shing mA - LEAD CARPENTER

From framing to form work to painting, there’s no job Shing can’t tackle. He has honed his skills over the past four decades working on a variety of projects, including the construction of BC Place, Pacific Centre mall, the Second Narrows Bridge, to name but a few. But it’s his love of building residential homes that keeps him in the business. Nothing drives him more than watching a project come to life and delivering a beautiful, well-made home to its new owners.
